I coined the term “wellness adventure” to describe the pieces and parts of my journey to discover simple wellness that works.
I did this for some pretty specific reasons.
Read on to find out why and see if this definition makes sense for you as well.
I’ve been exploring wellness strategies for over 20 years.
But a few years ago I had a conversation with myself. I was experiencing what I would call “issues” with my journey.
Things like:
- My wellness journey felt like a lot of WORK
- I was always WORRIED I was missing wellness that I needed
- I was AFRAID I would never get to my destination (and what did that destination even look like)
- I felt like I was always trying to FIX myself
- In short … wellness was a JOB.
That just seemed all wrong to me.
I thought about my journey.
I thought about how changing the way I describe something can change my whole perspective.
I thought about what words truly described what I was doing.
I realized that I was:
- EXPLORING and DISCOVERING new things
- ENJOYING the journey
- TAKING MY TIME
- On a journey that would lead to NEW things – in short, it was an ADVENTURE
And thus I realized that the best way for me to describe what I was doing was to call these journeys WELLNESS ADVENTURES.
That’s when this website – TheWellnessAdventures.com – was born.
As you explore this website you will be reading about MY Wellness Adventures. My hope is you will be inspired to go on your own wellness adventures.
For me a wellness adventure is all of the following:
- Everything on my adventures is SIMPLE – not too complex for me to understand or try
- Everything I try must actually work for me – aka these wellness strategies must be EFFECTIVE
- Everything on my adventures is ACCESSIBLE and ACHIEVABLE – I can afford it easily, I can find it near me easily, I can do whatever the adventure is.
The wellness strategies that I discover need to be all these things for me.
Now that you have a good definition for WELLNESS ADVENTURES, a next step is to explore some of my adventures. See if you discover something that you want to try. Learn what the experience was like for me on a particular adventure. Find resources and links to products I use and find to be successful.
