As I talk with the people in my life, it is inevitable that we will talk about cancer at some point, and what to do if it touches their lives.
How can that question not come up? All of us have lost friends and/or family to cancer of one form or another.
It’s so incredibly common today. It didn’t used to be, and while it is likely that we are living longer these days, that isn’t the only reason we see so much cancer.
Here at The Wellness Adventures I don’t get into discussing really complex medical issues like cancer. Not because I don’t want to, not because I don’t have a lot of thoughts on it, and not because I’m unaware of success stories.
I don’t get into discussing it because
- 1) the mission of this blog is to explore wellness that is simple, effective, and accessible. Cancer is none of those things sadly – it is is complex, solutions that are effective can be elusive, and treatment is almost always expensive.
- 2) Also I am a health and wellness enthusiast. I am not a licensed healthcare professional such as a medical doctor or other highly trained, skilled, and licensed person working in this specific space. I cannot emphasize enough the value of their years of training and experience.
That said, there are a few people I’ve been paying attention to for a long time who work with people who have cancer. I do this for my personal reasons – so I will feel confident about who I am going to turn to if I’m faced with the issue myself.
One of those people is Dr. Linda Isaacs, M.D.
Dr. Isaacs is:
“a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She offers individualized nutritional programs for patients with cancer and other illnesses, as well as programs for health maintenance. She and her colleague, the late Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez, worked together for more than twenty years, co-authoring articles about their results.”

Why I pay attention to Dr. Isaacs
Dr. Isaacs has strong clinical results with her patients. That means positive results, particularly longer than average lifespans after the initial diagnosis.
She worked closely with Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez, who also had very strong clinical results with patients. Dr. Gonzalez is no longer with us, he sadly passed away in 2015. You can learn about him, his work, and the physicians who carry on his approach (including how you could work with one of them) at the website TheGonzalezProtocol.com. I also follow this website closely, and I’ll write more about it in the future.
Dr. Isaacs uses a nutrition protocol approach that is individualized for each patient’s personal needs. These needs can vary widely depending on the type of cancer they are facing, and thus the nutrition protocol varies widely as well.
Dr. Isaacs shares some of her knowledge. Which means each of us can increase our own understanding about cancer and possible treatments by reading what she writes or listening to her speak.
Her email newsletter and website are sources of learning I find helpful. It is a challenge to explain complex medical information to lay people (non-doctors) in a way that is clear for them without failing the truth of the medical info. She is a person who manages to achieve this for us.
If you’d like to explore what she has to share visit her website, DrLindaI.com. I have found her email newsletter to be helpful.
If cancer has entered your life – either for you yourself, or a family member or friend – I send you words of hope and wellness. Stay open to the possibilities and live each moment to its fullest.

Attend the Wise Traditions Conference. This annual conference is a place where Dr. Isaacs often presents live in-person workshops. The conference is presented by the Weston A. Price Foundation and rotates to a new city in the United States each year (allowing you to attend when it is close to where you live). You can also purchase the video and audio from the conference, eliminating the need to attend in person if that is not possible for you.
