A Wooden Comb

July 20, 2020 by Sarah

Does it seem crazy to you that a wooden comb could really make a big difference in wellness?

I would not be surprised if it did.

I never considered my comb.

Until that is I met someone who enlightened me to the reasons to use a wooden comb.

And only a wooden comb. Not plastic. Not metal. Wood.

It was 2013 and I was working with a group who supports people with Autism and their families through activities with horses, movement, and nature.

One of their staff – Catherine – saw my plastic comb while we were running a conference. She did not scold me for my choice, but she did pull out a wooden comb and told me how much she loved it.

Funny thing. That comb was nothing extraordinary. And not expensive either. It was however lovely to look at and it felt pleasant to touch. I remember thinking wow, it’s just wood. Instead of my plastic comb. And yet it’s totally different.

I traveled home and promptly ordered a wooden comb. I still use that very same comb.

Why Use a Wooden Comb

Many of the frustrations we have with hair are quite possibly caused by the comb and brush we use. Who knew?

I have often felt that I was in a battle with my hair – trying to get it to do what I wanted. That’s a larger discussion – the whole concept of being at war with one’s own body. But for now we’ll stick with the comb thing.

Essentially, using a wooden comb will be better for your hair and your scalp. That leads to hair that feels better and looks better. It will be healthier.

So that is the short version.

Learn More from Morrocco Method

I also learned a lot about how to care for my hair and the products and tools to use at the Morrocco Method website. I love their instruction and products so much – and this is my wholehearted 100% endorsement of Morrocco Method. I am not an affiliate with them – this is a transparent recommendation.

What’s a Wellness Adventure?
